Thank you so much, Apache does eat his dog food, but in extremely small amounts
and it has to be dry food....but, I have been feeding him more homemade food
and will be looking into supplements for him or nutracal from the
vets.....Apache loves all kinds of veggies, he is veggie crazy. I am just glad
that I am not the only one doing this, it makes me feel better about raising my
puppy....but his vets are amazed at how great he looks.
Thank you so much for all the advice, I am so happy to be part of this
wonderful group....!!!!!

I add Endurance to my meat and vegetable potions, a supplement made by the
Volhard people for those feeding home made.
http://www.volhard. com/pages/ dog-food- supplements. php
I could see a visible difference in my boys when I switched to this
supplement.. .more peppy, playful and bright.

I also add North Atlantic Sardine oil by Natures Logic, available in the health
food stores. They really shine with this one! and there so small the bottle
lasts forever!
They too (Natures Logic) make a food fortifier that is good if you do not want
to mail away for the one above.

Natural diets include contents of the prey's stomach which are digested
vegetables so make sure the vegies are cooked. I give baked or boiled sweet
potatoes and a little bit of a green I am eating (kale, broccoli, chard). I
switch around from chicken to beef to turkey just to keep it interesting. I
freeze little patties nice and flat and toss them in a pan with a bit of water.
My vet says its ok not to cook too much but I'm not down with raw yet. Just not
convinced even though I see it does some dogs good. I also make a whole chicken
(if they're on sale) I never season anything even if I am having some later as
I can add to it then. Their favorite way chicken is the easiest for me. The
slow cooked one. I've attached the recipe but for them I leave out the onions
and celery and instead toss in a few baby carrots. It seems if carrot is all I
give them as a veg they get bound so I limit the carrots but they LOVE them
cooked or raw.

Happy cooking!

best,
