Gloria, Congrads on your new baby. Better the baby with you than an unexperienced chi owner. I think that the pups mature at different stages. Trinity's first litter was seven pups and they had to take turns nursing. I didn't adopt them out until 12 weeks because they were small. (in fact due to the new owner's circumstances I held three of them for an added week). But Trinity's last litter was only 4 and they grew fast. I started to advertise them at 8 weeks because they where a lot more mature than the little of 7 at the same age. In any case, I know you will be a great mom to him. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You know your puppy best.

Now, God forbid, if something were to happen to him, most of you would probably accuse me of murder. But you know what, the baby was being sold and I figure that his chances are much better with me, since I do know a little bit about Chihuahuas and have friends to guide me. Tomorrow, I'll set an appointment with the vet and lets pray that he is healthy. Gloria P
