Gizmo, my Chi was neutered at around 5 or 6 months and I have no "male
behavior" issues with him...yet (he's still only 9 months old).  My male
Australian Shepherd, however, was neutered late...maybe around 10 months old.
He tries to hump pillows and balled up blankets and such.  My female Aussie is
intact and when she goes into heat, my male (although neutered) goes nuts over
her!  He tries to mount her and has done so a number of times when we weren't
looking.  He even tied with her one time!  Of course it didn't really matter
because he couldn't produce puppies.  But, I didn't know a neutered dog could
tie to a female until that happened, LOL!

So, I guess the bottom line is...boys will be boys, whether they are neutered
or not.  It really depends on the dog and probably depends on the age they were
neutered.  It's most likely best to neuter before their adolescence to avoid
male dog behavior.

My Pepper was neutered years ago...but he is still interested in the
ladies, lol...I use him as my gage to know when the girls are in heat,
....he has no problem being "used" in this manner! lol
