You are so right two of our foster shibas (now my daugthers dogs)
have battled Giardia. It's notorious at mills so we get quite a few.
Sora who is 3 1/2 came to us at 4 months old shooting dirrea, as he
was eatting. He spent a week at the vets on drips because he
actually hemmoraged. We really thought we were going to loose him.
We ended up cooking Boiled ground turkey, pumpkin, rice and yogert
(plus supplements) for him because he could not tolerate any
commercial dog food. Took us forever to get him to look like
something other than a concentration camp survivor! Have the vet
give you plenty of metronidozol for any recurring bouts. AND BE VERY
CAREFUL. It's Contagious in it's untreated form. Humans can catch
it too. Our vet told us to clean up any poop from an infected pup
right away because they squirt out so much undigested food that even
dogs that aren't poop eaters can be tempted to eat waste because it
still smells like food.

Beth.
