Yes! My service boy has been through at least 6 different classes and is certified in two different categories. My little guy will has finished two classes and will start therapy dog training in March. That is , of course, different than service dog.

I generally just do my own training starting at home when they are pups.. Tia doesnt have the personality to be a service dog.. but from what Mare has been telling me.. Miguel just might.. huggles Pat in OK Patricia From: e holley <literacydog12406@ yahoo.com> To: chihuah...@yahoogro ups.com Sent: Monday, January 5, 2009 9:11:37 AM Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] Elizabeth.. flyin We continued with my regular trainer here in New Jersey and then were tested together. I could sure use one to pick things up for me.. often they just lay on the floor.. How do you go about training ones to do that.. and yeah Tia and Miguel together will only weigh about 10 lbs.. lol.. I think the weight limit is like 20 lbs.. oh well when hubby does get to go with me we will be able to take both .. and when I have to go alone.. Miguel will be there to keep him company.. he missed Tia real bad this time. huggles Pat in OK Patricia From: e holley <literacydog12406@ yahoo.com> To: chihuah...@yahoogro ups.com Sent: Monday, January 5, 2009 6:24:43 AM Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] Elizabeth.. flyin Hi, Pat! You are absolutely correct! I am disabled though, and my bigger boy is my service dog. He picks up items I drop and opens things for me. My tiny one is the "pet". That is the only way that I can travel with two! It is such a shame that our tiny ones can travel together. they certainy meet the weight requirement! I hope to be able to fly with little Miguel too when I get him.. so that is why I am wondering.. often only one of us can afford to go on a trip to visit family or friends and the other stays home and takes care of the rest of the furbabies.. huggles Pat in OK Patricia From: e holley <literacydog12406@ yahoo.com> To: chihuah...@yahoogro ups.com Sent: Sunday, January 4, 2009 7:44:13 AM Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] FW: WARNING!!!!! !!!!!! Shipping pets with Delta Airlines Hi, Michelle! You are absolutely correct! They are flying with me, however, Continental has received all sorts of awards for the Pet Flys program. They have airport kennels and remove animals when there are delays! I have traveled other airlines and the boys were in the cabin with me and the flight attendants were downright nasty and ignorant.
