The number one reason that Yahoo Groups is now dieing
and Facebook is beating their brains out is because
in wayyy too many instances, Yahoo groups were
started by anonymous control freaks who think
the group "belongs" to them because they happened
to start the group and they will also not add any
moderators.

And now 10 years later many of these groups have
been completely abandoned to the whims of
professional "spam-artists".

And when that 1 anonymous person inevitably abandons
the group there is no way for anyone else to
continue the group becasue noone even knows who
the person was, what state they live in, or how
to contact them.

Having one annonymous moderator who has never
posted her full name, for a group with 1,800
people in it, is absurd and an insult to everyone
in this group.

If it was up to me people with completely blank
profiles would not be able to start one of these groups.

You don't even have to join the groups I moderate
to figure out who the moderators are.
