they get the calcium and neutirents yes but not the advantage for the clean
teeth....one of the biggest reasons for feeding a raw diet.... one of the
biggest problems in toy breeds .. tooth decay leads to heart issues and
infections and poor digestion which leads to a host of other things...i cant
wait till my tiny can eat a bone..

Kelly,
I grind it for my little guys...Myrtle is way too little to chomp through bone
well enough for me to not worry about splinters...and to be honest...I feel it
is much safer...they still get the bone grinding it!!!and mama has no fear!

I would start Chi's on chicken breast as it is the easiest meat to digest. The
dark meat has more fat so a little harder to digest. I would remove the skin of
the breasts and I would throw them into the grinder and feed ground. No worries
about bone splinters with the little guys and they will still get the nutrients
from the bone. Then after I had them use to the breasts for awhile I would add
in other meats...dark meat, lamb, lean beef, etc.

Why grind it?  Unless a dog has really bad teeth I see no reason to grind.
Also, for smaller dogs I'd start with more than 3% of their body weight and
there's no reason to not feed organs every day as long as you don't feed too
much each day.
