my best set up ever was a 8 foot 3 sided pen fence in the livingroom with a doggie door to a 3 sided 8'x20' run outside with pea gravel... covered. they had 24/7 access to outside and i could open the doggie door into the house when i was home and lock them up when home alone and they could still get outside... protected. butt both fences up against the same wall with a doggie door to connect them . darcy

I actually bought a little pee pad holder with a little fence around it but she did the same thing, would do one on and other off. I have thought of 2 other ideas and thought maybe I'd run it by you guys and see if you think one might work better than the other. I actually use the largest cement mixing tray I can get at homedepot for my cat boxes. They are pretty big . I have thought about cutting a doorway and putting a pad in there for her to see if she would use and if that would help or not. And the other day I was at Target and saw these wire shelfing systems that you have what looked to be 12 x 12 panels that you put together with these little plastic knobs to make shelves. I have seen them used to make pens for rabbits and guinea pigs etc too. You can change them and put them in different sizes and shapes. Anyway I was thinking of making a little fenced in area around the pad so that she knew that was where she should go potty . Just wondering if you guys think one of these would work better than the other? Or would there be something better. I don't think the little tray thing will work cause they are so small and she wouldn't stay on the other one I had for her. I think she likes a larger area but I would really like for her to understand she goes in a certain area and then try to size it down some . Evidently she doesn't get the pad on the floor idea yet. And I tend to agree about her being able to difference between the floor and pad and having some kind of marker for her to understand I go here but not here. If anyone else has any additional ideas would love to hear them.
