I have to put on ski gloves to cut my chi's nails because she bites me. I've been doing this for several weeks and it seems to be working, she isn't putting up as much of a struggle. The key is to hold the dog's paw firmly, once the dog sees that struggling won't help, she will give up, as long as you don't give in to her.
