Hi everyone I would like to find out how long dry food should sit in a bowl. Ricky does not eat it dry dog food, but I keep it down anyway just in case. Its Royal Canin chi puppy small tiny bits. I have only been putting a little in the bowl. Today I dumped out the other food that had been there for about a week, and gave fresh. still he is not interested in dry food or any dog food for that fact. He has gained some weight. I am feeding him chicken, turkey, hamberger etc. that is all he will eat. I have tried to mix it with canned dog food, but he eats around the dog food or just picks out the meat I put in. He is very cleaver. I am a little worried he is not getting the nutrition he needs just eating meat. He picks around veggies too. I bought some Merrick good canned dog food... I mean it smelled and looked good enought for me to eat!! but he turned his nose up to that too. I have tried some of the advice that this group has given me as far as trying foods etc. I will not wait to see if he will eat... as he was skin and bones when I got him. I really think that he starved in the shelter and that is why he was so thin. he hates dry food and he had to compete with 2 other dogs for food.
