Actually Nancy there is a chart designed especially for Chihuahuas. It has been
dead on from birth to now with both Mouse and Maizy. My breeder friend uses it
with about 95% accuracy. Just start weighing her each week and mark her
weights...the outcome weight will be at the bottom each time and if you can fit
within the ranges for a few weeks in a row you will be able to predict adult
weight if fed normally. Most breeders chart weight of their litters from birth
up so ask your breeder for any weight records she has.
 Here is the chart:

This chart is a guide to what the future weight of a Chihuahua puppy might be.
There are many factors that affect the final size a Chihuahua may attain upon
reaching adulthood and this chart cannot predict the final outcome with full
certainty.

Subject: [Chihuahuas] Chihuahua weights

Hi everyone I have a question I am buying ny second Chihuahua from the same
breeder and same parents as my current little girl, Abbey-Rose. Both parents
are
very small mom 3lbs dad 2.5 ponds and Abbey is small 4lbs. I have neuropathy in
my arms, hands and legs which makes it hard for me to carry anything over 5
lbs.
Well the mom had two babies c-section and one did not make it. So the one left
is quite chubby and I am thinking that she is going to be BIG. The breeder has
assured me that since she is a singleton and is not yet 4 weeks old that once
she starts walking and playing she will slow down as she is getting all mom's
milk. the breeder also has the grandparents and they are very small. I am
already falling in love with this baby but am afraid that she will end up to
big
for me. Does anyone have experience with this subject? Remember this is for my
health otherwise I would not care and the fact that I am paying a lot since her
mom had to have a c-section. Should I trust the breeder or start looking at
other puppies? PLEASE advise me. Thanks Nancy
Plus I want my girl to have someone her size to play with as she does not like
big dogs.
