Hey Nancy,

He was 13 weeks when we brought him home and now at a few days shy of 6 months
he's a whopping 2.5 lbs. He's a cobby so he's a little squat thing with a plump
body! I was so overwhelmed with how itty bitty he was but he went to work from
day one and now is the best store dog in the world. He's charting at about 3
lbs or there abouts and I've already forgotten how teeeny tiny he was when we
got him. I can't even imagine when he was born, he was 3 ozs!! LOL Oh and I'm
learning to crochet just to make him things. If I get good at it I might offer
to make some for ppl here just because I'm using the crochet as threapy for my
hands and there are only so many hats, scarves and blankets I can make for
myself.

Sarah - 22 ounces wow and you got to take him home. I bet that was scary as
that is so tiny. How much does he weigh now? Its amazing how small some chi's
are. That is what I love about the breed is they are all so different.

Heya,

Charlie had the same problem and still does when he's running around playing.
When he was super tiny, xxxs small tiny 22 ozs small nothing fit. I was buying
ladies trousers socks you know the pretty holiday ones they put out that have a
lot of stretch to them and the fuzzy ones, I cut the heel and toe part off and
make slits on one side for his legs and POOF instant doggie sweater. Bonus is
the stretch keeps the legs in place, they're not expensive, they're pretty and
quick to make. If I'm feeling really ambitious I use fabric glue to keep the
cuts from fraying. I've also started sewing fleece lined harness coats for
walking him in.

Good Luck,
Sarah

Hi Ellen!

all of Rickys sweaters etc are front legged except the one I just bought with
no legs, just wrap around with velcro. I measured him today. He is 8" long from
nap of neck to base tail on top... and 12" around his chest when measured just
behind his front legs. Someone said to buy FERRET sweaters, (ebay) because they
are usually long and on the thinner side. So I am hoping to find some that will
fit him soon.

Shanna, I have the same problem with Sissy! I know she is still growing but
this gets to be a bit rediculous to try and dress them warm. She has outgrown
her xxs now except a few. What I have done is stick to the front legs only kind
of out fits...she gets out of them to but they do work better for now. I
thought about trying to make her some leggings with fleece or crochet them but
I haven't gotten around to that yet. If you find something that works let me
know as well! good Luck Ellen
