Reading this really got me thinking. I think maybe volunteering with the animal shelter might be a great thing for me and my family. My biggest worry is that I will get attached to the animals and want to take them all home. I have such a soft heart for animals, children and the elderly. It especially hurts my heart hearing about the PM's. This group has really opened my eyes about responsible breeding. I'm embarassed to say Frida came from a pet store. It is a small local pet store with a good local reputation. Frida came from a breeder about 90 minutes South of town. It sounded OK when I got her but now in retrospect I really wonder. At the time, I had no idea where to get a chi. Should have investigated more, but I love my Fri Fri. She is my heart baby. The articles on the PM auction was disgusting. The sheer volume of types of dogs and numbers of dogs boggles my mind. So many chi's too!
