Hi Peggy,
I would change pads!!! The pads I have absorb so quick, are quilted and nice 
and thick...so no paw prints! Mine are called Top Paw sold at Petsmart! I also 
use some ones I made myself...washable ones to save $. I did 3 layers of 
flannel, with a quilt batting layer inside...no leaks as the fabric absorbs it 
all fast...no paw prints either. Also washable ones can be found online or from 
hospital supply...the thick rubber backed hospital bed pads are AWESOME!!!!
