at the grocery store for having Abbey with me - saying what is this country
coming to - its like a 3rd world country now.!
Well today I went back there as I have shopped there for over 30 years and my
daughter worked there when she was a teenager. The manager came up to me and
told me that he asked that man to leave and never shop at his store again! He
explained that Abbey was a service dog and that he should keep his opinions to
himself if he does not know what the truth is. I think he said a few more
things that I won't post - But it made me feel so good.
Love and hugs Nan and the girls
Of course I did sneak Maggie in too - but they all wanted to see her! But she
is in training!

If you're willing to consider a rescued Chi there are hundreds, if not
thousands, of them.  Look at Pet Finders, EBay  and Craig's List in your area.

What's your mix? Is your dog mature or a baby? It is great to get positive
reinforcement from Chi owners.  I am looking everywhere right now to get a dog
that is just right.  Did you get your dog from a breeder?

I have a wonderful memory of going to a breeder with my mother, many years
ago.  She wanted a pup.  We walked into the living room and there were a number
of dogs waiting.  When we sat down a rather big, mature one [schnauzer] jumped
on the sofa and sat right next to me.  I said hello and it was the beginning of
a wonderful relationship.  He was over a year and had gotten too big to show -
lucky us!  He loved everyone and was a very gentle fellow. I think he spoiled
us.  So I have made some inquiries to local breeders as well.  I am looking
into rescues.

I just got a chihuahua mix about like four/five months, I was nervous getting
her because what I have seen and heard about the breed! I am sooo glad I have
her! I think chihuahuas and pitbull are both misunderstood! Now I'm a big fan
of chihuahuas!

Hi - I'm Jacqueline
I just joined this group and am currently looking around to adopt a female
Chi.  We live in an apt and have always loved dogs.  Currently we are looking
at re-homed dogs as we want a mature dog.  Wish us luck.

I already have a few questions.  When I read about Chihuahuas they never say
they have folded ears - but I see a lot of them - are they mixed breeds? I also
have seen Merle dogs - in Dashounds they are not allowed due to health issues -
is this also something to avoid?

If you have tips about looking for a dog or anything we need to know about
Chihuahuas that we haven't read about - please share.
