remember lorena to go to chicken and rice cooked then change to the raw slowly ... adding a little more raw and a little less cooked each day till all raw... this is the best way to avoid more upset...feed the chicken raw first and stick to it for a couple months remembering there will be an adjustment time... some longer some less....some older dogs have a detox period of poops then are fine forever after a poop or 2... darcy trick is go slow and give it time to adjust...

Its nice because you can break it into little pieces and works great for training. I did find it on ebay for 30.00 for a large barrel that is 50.00 in the store. Its worth it to me and does last a long time. I might just try it as soon as I can get to a store that carries it. The closest one is 15 miles away. I may check it out tomorrow. Thanks a bunch! Also, I was at Petco today looking at treats and I saw a couple that I might wanna try but I wanted to get everyones opinions on them. They are Pro Treat Raw Naturals and Healthy Bones. Has anyone tried them before or feed them now? Please let me know what yall think of them. And if anyone has any other suggestions of treats that would be good for Monster please share. Thanks! One more thing, I joined the Companion Animal Care-Naturally list but I'm still waiting for approval by the group owner. So, I was wondering what kind of chicken i should get and how should i cook it for Monster? I really appreciate all the help! She really loves them and I have tried several brands with the same results. So try not to give them to him for two weeks and see if he stops throwing up. If he does stop, then give it to him again and if he throws up the next day or even two days afterwards, then you have proven he is sensitive to the dry type of treats, just like my Princess is. She can't have any of those types of treats. Hope that helps. ♥ Peggy & The Girls ♥ -----Original Message----- From: lgorum18 <[email protected]> To: Chihuahuas <[email protected]> Sent: Fri, Nov 12, 2010 8:56 pm Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] Monsters not feeling well He is kibble fed and I leave the food out all day and sometimes he just picks at it all day but most of the time he eats a couple times a day sometimes only once a day. Sometimes I give him scrambled eggs for breakfast. As for treats, he gets either a begging strip or a milkbone twice a day. He also gets carrots occasionally. I've been considering raw feeding for awhile but I'm still not too sure about it. I've also been considering switching him to freshpet select or the honest kitchen food. I have a really hard time giving him new things cause of everything that can go wrong. I'm so scared that I'm gonna give him something that's gonna hurt him. I know I worry way too much and I know kibble is not the best thing for him but I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something happened to him because of something I did or gave him. So I have to be completely sure about something before I do it. I know I'm probably bring a little irrational but that's me and I can't help it. A nd I just don't feel comfortable enough to feed him raw. Do yall think cooking him food or giving him fresh select or honest kitchen would be good alternatives to feeding him raw? I really wouldn't mind cooking for him, I would actually love to do that, but I need to know what and how much to give him. For now, I'm just gonna go ahead and cook up some chicken and rice for him.
