Chihuahua's are like people they come in different sizes - mine have always been the longer legs thinner body type - but the standard is the more shorter leg and a little more husky. I would not worry about your girls weight as long as she is eating she is just going to be smaller. I am sorry but if your Vet does not know what a chihuahua is I highly suggest that you find another Vet that is familiar with the breed. Small dogs have different issues and the Vet needs to know this and how to advise you accordingly. I would also get a book on the breed. Actually I have one that is on a PDF file that is pretty good and I will attach it for you. It really has some great info on the breed and was written by long time chi owners and breeders. Nancy and the girls I bought this on line but its great because I can share with everyone!

They will love them and it will put weight on fast. I believe there is a recipe on the group list but if not I can provide one. You do have to be careful though it will put the weight on. Also I have found that with my babies that have trouble aiming that the potty pad holder helps. You can get one from amazon and it creates a little raised platform for the potty pad. they have to step up to get on the pad ... its a tiny step and even my tiny puppies can make it. it helps them know they are in the right spot and it prevents any soak through or using the pad as a toy. But yeah they all have different personalities like little furry people. But all sounds good so far!
