Karen, pumpkin straight from the can, the one that is pure pumpkin and no
fillers is a great remedy to get their system back on track. Only give him 1
teaspoon per day, for two days and it should regulate him again.. If you give
him to much, he will get the runs. If he hasn't drank anything for more then
24 hours then you may have to add some slightly cool water to a syringe and
force it down him, but only a couple of drops at a time, so he doesn't choke.

The pumpkin really works and is safer then meds. But I would only give it as
long as you know that he doesn't have a blockage of something else that he may
have eaten and if you know that he doesn't have a twisted bowel, which is quite
serious and most dogs can die from that within hours. Only a vet will be able
to tell by checking him out if it is just irregularity or some thing else. So a
Vet check is important for that and to make sure he is not dehydrating.

If in the future you see that he hasn't gone to the bathroom after two days,
then try the pumpkin. It usually works the next morning. Great for people to,
but we humans will want to add cinnamon and sugar to it, since it has a very
bland taste to it.

Has be pooped lately? Is he eating or drinking? How long has he been ill? I
think I would call the Vet - better safe than sorry.

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted in a long time, but I have a question but my little chi Chevy.
He is not acting like himself. He just lays there, shakes a little and his
little belly is hard. Can anyone tell me what could be wrong. I am wondering if
I should call the vet or if there is something that I could do at home. I
appreciate your answers.

Thanks,

Caren and Chevy
