I am confused, did you tell your neighbor that you found their dog? What if they have been looking for her? They will not get in trouble since you said that she was picked up as a stray, unless they don't care and don't want her. I would talk to them first, and suggest if they don't want her to call a couple of Visla rescues and see if they can help him, if not, then he should be responsible enought to advertise her for adoption, before keeping her in a shelter.

I went to the local shelter today to see how many Chis were there 'cuz y'all were saying there were so many in the CA shelters. First, I'll tell you that there were four there. But, I found my neighbor's dog there! You guys I'm crying as I type. I know this dog. I've played with this dog. She's a wonderful dog. Visla, Shephard Mix.. She played with my dog. So, what do I do. The shelter said that she was a stray from when we had some uncommon thunder storms and she got scared and jumped the fence. So the shelter picked her up, then adopted her out to a family. She was returned to the shelter because she couldn't be left alone and tore things up.. I know this dog; I know her habits; I know she grew up with another large dog. Thus she's never been alone and has always played with her dogmate. The shelter doesn't know this. So, How can I tell them the background of this dog without getting the owner in trouble. I would take her in right now, but I'm not allowed more than two dogs. Does anybody live in the El Cajon, CA area that would want a wonderful dog. You guys please help me. Carolyn, Cooper and Joe
