Hi Deanna,

I love all the pictures and Gigi is jealous, she wants that gorgeous pink
dress! It also looks like you are ready for a second doggie closet!

As far as Princess goes with Gigi and the jealous act. My dogs do get the
one on one every day and the combo play and the basic+ training. The problem
is that Princess didn't like Gigi from day one. Which I was and still am
shocked by because she always favors the little dogs at the dog park. At the
dog park she is even careful not to jump or step or be to rough with them.
With Gigi she couldn't care less, and pushes her way in, and Gigi pushes her
way in too.

If Gigi walks by her, she growls at her. They are two complete different
personalities. Princess loves to run and play, especially tug with her rope
toy. Gigi does not play at all, and shows no interest in any of her toys,
not even to snuggle with them. Gigi only wants to sleep in her bed or on my
lap, she is not active at all until it is time to eat. She pretty much
sleeps all day. Partly because of the seizures and partly I believe because
she was never taught how to play and interact with other dogs. Classical of
a Backyard Breeder dog. She doesn't interact at the dog park either, but
prefers to follow me around. But Gigi does hold her own. When I first got
her she stole both of Princess's beds and Princess didn't argue for them
back either, instead Princess would come to me and cry and whimper just like
a two human kids do. Gigi also stole Princesss food more then once, and for a
long time Princess tolerated it. Now she gives Gigi a growl and Gigi backs
off. Now it is funny to see, because they settled the bed issues , their are
4 beds two small for Gigi and two big ones for Princess, Gigi now sleeps in
the big beds and Princess tries to curl up in the small ones.

So their you have it, they do not interact at all. They never sleep together
and they fight for my attention all the time. It has taken a lot of time
and training just to get them both to sit together when I want to give them
a treat. Princess refused to sit near her, because Gigi would wiggle and
jump and try to force herself in front of Princess. The only way I managed
to get Princess to tolerate sitting next to Gigi was by force. I had to sit
on the floor and hold her in my left arm and had Gigi in my right arm and
slowly tried to bring Gigi closer and closer to Princess's face, all the
while she is fighting me to get away. I would tell her to stop and be still
and the when she did I would tell her she is a good girl and lots of neck
petting and kisses while I was still holding her. It took two rounds of that
plus training Gigi to sit still when she is next to Princess and it paid
off. At least now they sit calmly next to one another for a treat or if I
call them to me. Also, I realize that Gigi is getting more attention as far
as me holding her a lot because of the seizures. I'm sure that is adding to
Princess's jealousy too. I am a small person so to put 18 pounds of Princess
on my lap plus 6 pounds of Gigi, when I am sitting on a dinning room chair
at the table with my lap, is never going to work, Lol!

Believe me Princess is a well behaved lady. She responds to any command the
first time. This is a tremendous change, considering she was suppose to be
put down for aggression issues at the shelter. And she was very aggressive
when I first adopted her. But if it weren't for me having trained dogs
professionally years ago, I would never have been able to train her. So you
needn't worry about who the leader of the pack is, my dogs are well aware of
it. I feel that this issue is something that these two have to work out
between themselves more then anything else. But I am still open to ideas,
that's how a person keeps on learning.

In a nut shell, Gigi is a people dog and doesn't show the desire to interact
with dogs in general and Princess is the outgoing type who likes people as
well as playing with other dogs. So mommy chose the wrong Chi for Princess,
that's my fault, but I had no clue about Gigi when I first saw her other
then she was and still is a very quiet dog and loves to be loved and is
absolutely adorable.
