I live in NY. I love your Sheltie! I had always wanted one since I was a kid
and
saw Lassie, but wanted the smaller version. Then I read up on the breed and
felt
that they wouldn't be happy in an apartment.

So sorry to hear about your fall, I can't imagine the pain that you went
through. Two years ago, I slipped and twisted my ankle under my leg and body
weight, and that pain almost caused me to pass out every time I went to stand
up. It took 6 weeks before I could walk correctly. Your right it was worse
then labor pains. So I can't imagine going through what you did.

Hi Peggy
Where is it you live once again please?
Sounds like wintertime has come to see you. Yes your doggy can smell or rather
sense the weather changes coming. It is a natural inborn instinctual trait.
I would much rather have snow than freezing rains. You see last January I
slipped on the ice outside and fractured both the radius and ulna bones right
at
the wrist on my left arm. Ouch! I never had such pain even birthing my babies.
They transferred me by ambulance to Tulsa to where an orthopedic surgeon could
fix it with plates and screws and such. I never want to see ice again. Besides
that we live in the country and have a rather long driveway that is almost
insurmountable to get up.
My mini dachshunds love the snow and play like wild men. The chi's look out
the front window and just tremble like...man you are some really dumb dogs !
LOL!
Hugs,Mare

Well I just let Princess out for her evening (or should I say morning, it's
almost 3:30am) quickie, before I hit the sack. ITS A BLOODY 21 DEGREES!!!
Being the Eskie that she is, she just stands their looking and smelling the
air,
not a care in the world about freezing! Lol! I wonder if she can smell that
snow is coming? Actually we haven't had any snow yet, but Sunday their may be
some with freezing rains. That's worse then all snow. As long as I don't have
to
drive in it, I am fine!

How lucky you are if you live in a warm state. I hate winters, always did, but
I
am stuck here so I find things to keep me busy indoors in the winter. I do get
a
kick out of Princess when it snows though. She loves snow and could stay out
their all day if I were to let her. Last winter, I felt like a kid with her, I
bundled up and took her for a quick walk and on the way back she did not want
to
go inside yet. It was so funny, she kept trying to pull me onto the lawn which
had about 6 inches of snow. So I released the extendable leash so she could run
through it. Well that wasn't good enough for her, she wanted me in their with
her, so I said what the heck... She ran back and forth and jumping and barking
and having a good old time for herself, so I decided to be a good sport and
thew
some snow at her. She didn't like it on her head, so she turned around and
started to kick it back at my face! Lol! I threw some more at her and she
did
the same thing each time I threw it at her she would turn around and kick it
back at me and bark and honestly if I didn't know better, I would say that bark
was really her laughing at me!
