I also heard if you can stand the cold, get in it. Our body always wants to maintain our temp at 98.6 and if you are cold it has to burn calories to warm your body up. So if you live in the cold and can stand it take a walk for 15 mintues a day and they say the weight will drop off. I even saw where these people took baths with ice in it. Does not sound like something that I would enjoy.... maybe when I was going through the change but now know - LOL

Walking 20min a day, and drinking water daily will make you lose weight (slowly) without really changing your diet, unless your addicted to Mcdonalds! :) I am in the same boat as some of you. weight has always been an issue. at one time my heaviest was 325! then I decided to do something about it. I bought this book called "walking for life" or something like. it had to with walking daily & eating smarter. I started walking 20-30min a day, and changed what I ate. I loved ice cream so what I did was cut out my milk during the day, and had 1 cup of ice cream in the evening time. I had a nice breakfast, mid morning snack like cottage cheese, had a sandwitch at lunch, mid afternoon eats, then had a good dinner like chicken, veggies and a baked potatoe. its took about 6 months or so, but I lost about 100 lbs! I stayed at about 200-210 for along time. when I stopped working 1 1/2 years ago, I gained some weight. went cose to 260. now have lost some and back down to 240. I just cut out my milk and cereal, and snacks, but continued eating my normal food and walk with ricky a few times a day. yes I would love to be on the chi wagon with everyone else... should call the new group the "weight wagon express"! because we want to go on a express weight loss!! Really great. I lost about eighty pounds a few years ago and it came back a lot faster than if left. I am now taking meds twice a day plus an injection. I take 7 pills in the morning and another 4 in the evening. My cholesterol and BP is way too high even on meds. My mother died along with her two siblings in their early ages. Mom was 58 just three years older than me. I am scared but I lack motivation on my own. I think a side group is a great idea. We can pick a weigh in day and post results weekly. And on a daily basis we can tell of our challenges and pitfalls. We can encourage each other and reach out when we need a helper to stop us from cheating. What do you think? Also I just got home with Maxwell (Maxx) the new boy chi. He is very scared and in hiding right now in a free standing pen I set up to acclimating him in slowly. He was in a cage for the last 11 months so freedom is something he doesn't know. He of course bit me once while I was trying to crate him, but all is well. As soon as I can snap a picture I well. We are starting tomorrow and going until Spring Break mid April. We all show up the first day with a $10 gift card. The person who loses the most percentage wins the pile of gift cards. They’ve got a money pot going to see who will lose the largest percentage of weight by sometime in April. The chis and I have started also watching this new reality TV show called Heavy. It comes on Monday nights on A and E channel. I saw the first episode Monday night and just cried for the people on that show because their lives were so effected by their weight. But by the end of the show they were happy and working towards their goal of losing weight and looked awesome. I was so happy for them. Of course the chis couldn’t figure out why mommy was laughing and crying at the same time. Jack was really confused, poor little guy. Actually the little boy I am picking up will go on one too. Being overweight is very hard on their little frames and has some serious health risks. Not to mention it shortens their lifespan. That being said I feed mine half their allotted amount in the am and half again in the pm. If they seems to be hungry still I might give them a few pieces in the mid-day. I have them that range from 2.85 to 7 pounds and none of mine have had a single problem. Hope this help ease your mind.
