Beth - Actually, I am NOT anywhere near Redlands! It was a 3+ hour trip for me 1 WAY!--total it took 8 hours.
I live in Ventura County (30 minutes South of Santa Barbara). I was sent there for Jax (my Eskie) because NOBODY else stepped up and I KNEW he wouldn't make it out ALIVE! There were lots of interest in him but they tagged him as having "seizures"! Which he DID NOT!! I've had him for a month and he has YET to have a single seizure. I even asked them over there to describe the "seizure" and they said they tried to comb him and he went ballistic for about 10 seconds!! Maybe because he was sooo MATTED and they hurt him!! I've since cut down many of the mats. He was soooo matted that I accidentally cut him and he didn't even flinch. David said it was because he was near-dead already!!! He was lying in that place starving for who know how long so his immune system was shot---he was on meds for 3 weeks with pneumonia and all.. So for this nobody would come and get him because they DOOMED him!! I didn't care--if he DID have seizures I would have gotten him on meds and kept him. I'm PRAYING for this girl!! I called them and BEGGED them that I was working on this!! They said she is VERY PRECIOUS and gets along well with other dogs!! Here's a video link of her and more information!
