One of our larger dogs, Zero, had a huge benign tumor on the side of his face. They didn't want to operate unless it got too big, because it was located in a very vascular area. Well finally it got the size of a baseball and had to go. Our vet referred us to a specialist, he was going to charge us $3000. Our hearts sank. We love our animals, but had no where that kind of money. We finally took him to another vet surgeon, and the surgery was $300. Is that an unbelievable difference or what? It breaks my heart to think of how many people have lost their dear little loved ones because they couldn't afford the vet and didn't think, (as we almost didn't) to check out others. I'm so angry at the first specialist for capitalizing on peoples desperation, I hope someone sues him and he goes out of business. Is that harsh?
