When Desi was only about 7 or 8 months old, he actually ran and jumped on the bed and on the part where Dolly was sleeping under the blanket. I heard the most blood-curdling cry and then they both were at war. Dolly started shaking all the time and as me and my neighbor put it almost vibrating. Several trips to the vet before they realized that her knee was injured. She had to go through knee surgery because of it. So, although Maxx's knee might have some previous injury to the knee, the little fight could have put the icing on the cake.

The vet feels that Maxx has a patella luxation. It was not the other dogs fault though. Apparently Maxx spent a year (11 months) on cement and he is about a pound overweight and together they can cause hip and knee problems. We had noticed that Maxx has a habit of stretching his rear leg all the time and that is a sign of tendons slipping, or something like that. Anyway when Blue tackled him it just made him strain and thus the pain and inflammation. He is on steroids and once the pain is less we will do an MRI and see what is going on. So he will recover it's just a matter of when. He is looking very pittiful tonight so I gave him a special treat. But as of tomorrow we are going remain faithful to his diet.
