I am allergic to cats so I don't have any. I believe some of the people on the
loop do and they get along just fine. Good luck and be sure to let us know.

Wow, Laura, you really HAVE had an extensive variety of different breeds of
dogs, have even shown dogs, and yet you adore Chihuahuas. That says a lot. The
gal I was talking with at my dentist's office was telling me about her
mini-dachshunds and I shared that I deeply wanted a chi, and she responded by
saying, "because they're so darn cute" and I agreed wholeheartedly. I do like
Pomeranians also. Has anyone else seen the little Pomeranian named "Boo"?,
being dubbed the cutest dog ever. Turns out he's a shaved Pomeranian and
certainly worth googling. Ha ha, I like your suggestion of just showing up one
day with my little chi and you're so right, of course he would love it. It
worked for you (LOL) and probably could here as well.. No, do not have any
dogs at all, just two pretty entertaining cats. Do cats and chis get along
well together, I wonder?

Lynn, I used to show Pomeranians and cocker spaniels. I have owned a Welsh
Cardigan corgi,
a Yorkie, Rottweilers, a greyhound, a toy poodle, miniature dachshunds
and English bulldogs. Whew! None of them - I hope I don't offend anyone - has
captured my heart the way the Chihuahua does. They are small dogs with huge
personalities. Pomeranians are like that but in a prima donna way. My Yorkie
had aggression issues. As for how to convince your husband, you can show him
some of the pictures in our photo file in the group section. Do you have any
dogs yet? Or you can do what I did. Just show up with one and dare him not to
fall in love, lol.

Hi Laura!.....I live in a suburb of Toledo, Ohio. Brrrr! Where are you located
and who are your chi loves?
You've probably posted that info, forgive me, but since recently joining the
group, so many prolific posters (love it) have contributed to me being unable
to keep all girls' info completely straight in my mind. It's so interesting
that you posted how endeared you are to the Chihuahua breed now after having
experienced many other breeds (may I ask what the breeds were/are?), because I
have repeatedly read of so many people saying the exact same thing as you,
thinking they would always only be big dog lovers and then contact with a cute
little chi did them completely in (ha!) to the charms of the Chihuahua breed.
I am being serious here, even though I know it sounds really silly, but I
became interested in owning a chi after I saw Dennis Leary (comedian) on The
View. He was talking about how much he loves his dogs and how he always
imagined himself this macho "big" dog lover until his wife brought home their
Chihuahua. He told her she and the Chihuahua) were in for trouble, the big
dogs were going to run rough shod over the teeny tiny chi and that is when he
said he learned a thing or two, FROM THE CHIHUAHUA!, and now it is the exact
opposite of what he envisioned, and it is the CHI that runs the big dogs and
basically the whole household. So typical, huh? Anyone else have other
similar stories to share ? He also said he just cannot get over the big
personality of the Chihuahua and how much he truly loves their chi. He never
saw it coming!!! (LOL)

Too funny story and that is what made me start researching the breed, how
comical, how cute, how protective, how big they think they are, how lovable,
well, you know, and that is when I began my campaign here at home to own a chi.
I think I have my husband almost convinced....what can I do to push him over
the edge?

Thanks so much for saying hello.

Oh my gosh, cannot decide which is more adorable -- Madison and Myrtle (what
precious faces! they seem to know (don't they though?) how precious they look
in their new apparel) OR the new sweaters. Gee, such beautiful needlework
talent, Marilyn, the sweaters are both darling beyond words. I am new to the
group and am a wannabe chi owner, hoping I could be the best future chi mommy
by being well prepared through
lurking (LOL) and learning from the knowledge and expertise of other chi
owners.

When I get my little girl or guy, I would like to employ Marilyn's fantastic
skills for a sweater to warm our hearts and his/ her little body, if she's not
too busy at the time with her own babies. Thanks for sharing such cute
pictures, Deanna. Sure brightened my day....
