You can use any server (the person who supplies you with the email service) for Incredimail. So no, I don't have to keep AOL if I don't want to just to make Incredimail work. I don't have to have AOL run through Incredimail, I choose it that way, but I can still see my mail in the AOL web base as well.
I also have email address with my service provider, one address I use does go through Incredimail and the other address doesn't go throught Incredimail Yet I can still see all the mails in both of those accounts on my service providers web base too. With Incredimail, I don't have to go into the IP web or AOL to delete them if I don't want to. I can choose to remove through the Incredimail program or I can go to the IP web mail and delete them their It's all choices that you have when you set up your email. That's what is so good about having an email-client service like Incredimail You can use any web email service and you have a choice as to whether you want to receive and/or send emails from it. If you wanted to use IncrediMail, you could download it with your current email address, or you could open any other email service like AOL, Gmail, Yahoo, Windows Live Hotmail, etc. If you choose one of those, then you would be opening a new email address, that says for example: nancyL at gmail.com. Then you upload Incredimail and you use this new address in Incredimail. Of course you also would have to go into your group and change your email address their too. You can open an email account anywhere, as many as you want, under any name and use them. You can choose to have them go through Incredi or choose not to have them go through IncrediMail. -------Original Message------- From: Nancy Lucky Date: 2/7/2011 6:46:13 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] MJ-AOL IS MESSING UP!!!! Peggy, Could you delete AOL or do you have to have it for inredible mail to work? To: [email protected] Date: Monday, February 7, 2011, 2:08 PM This is all so interesting. When I first joined AOL a couple of months ago, It was great. Then they decided to make some upgrades that was suppose to make things better. They also offered more features by trying their new service that you have to pay for. That's when the problems started. I think that they are purposely making the free service bad, so that people will switch over to the paid service because it is suppose to be faster and better. That's when it got so slow that I decided to run it through IncrediMail, plus I am able to use the graphics better. Which was fine for a while, but now my post get hung up in the out box for almost 5 minutes before I see them to the group, and it is not Incredimail, it is AOL doing it at their end. I have a Yahoo account and hate it for the same slow reason. I can't even scroll down my in box with their service. I have to hold the left mouse button and that's a pain because that can go to fast or to slow. I think I am going to search around for more services. AOL I believe also owns AIM?, I might try that one and see what happens. I did try Gmail and it wasn't any better and a pain to log into. Oh well, such is life on the world wide web! -------Original Message------- From: mj turner Date: 2/7/2011 4:06:28 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] GLORIA -AOL IS MESSING UP!!!! [1 Attachment] Now that I've taken myself off the free AOL mail service maybe it will get better for you <G> I joined the end of last week because I wanted to be able to put some cute graphics in my emails. I just couldn't stand how slow it was and what a mess things seemed to be in. Thought it might be because I just joined and things were getting sorted out but maybe it wasn't just me. Anyway, I'm back to using my free yahoo mail and am happy except for not being able to add cute things.
