Well, my hearing loss was total when I was 12 and now about 50%...I have my TV up loud in my own home, but cant hear it in someone elses. I do have my phone ringers as loud as I can, and my car radio loud. I am on a very limited income and have to take from my savings just to have food and necessities for me and Dolly & Desi. Dolly had knee surgery last year which put a huge hole in my savings plan! I have to go to the spine surgeon, pain management doctor, another MRI on Monday and had two MRIs in December also. I was in the hospital for 5 days in September and twice to surgery centers after that. My hearing can wait until I have the money for the technology. After years (like 40) of the hearing loss, I have developed a keen sense of lip reading when with friends and small groups.
The thing that I focus on the most is being able to make it day to day with my spinal issues. The people that I come in contact with are loving and caring and dont challenge me when I say I cant hear what they said. I am hoping that this year I will be able to get some hearing aids to help. In my life, I just have to deal with what is the immediate needs and then just wait for the opportunity to get assistance with the others. In the interest of space and making a long story short i gave a brief overview. If you want the play by play......met her at 2:00. She called my mom at 5. That was MY first hint anything was wrong period. She dud not have to take it, meaning it had been in her possession 3 hours. I offered then and there to take it back. WE (actually meaning her and my mom since I dont talk on the phone) and me duscussed the cough at that time. She did not have to take it. I would have come and got it. Dont tell me she was too emotionally attached in 3 hrs. Nor had she spent in vet bills. BUT my contract requires her to get it seen by a vet. I am still not convinced if the pup is even sick. I trust my mom when she says pup was xoughing a little.
