Lorena,

I know what you're feeling. I felt the same way when my little
sports car was totalled back when I was in college. I got a brand
new car just like it, but that still wasn't the same as having my
"friend" who represented so many memories.

My mom also once drove a Classic Mustang. The one time that my dad
took her car out by himself, some idiot ran into him and totalled the
Mustang. To this day, my mother still misses her Mustang. How she
loved that car. But there is nothing anyone can do to stop bad
drivers from causing accidents. Sometimes good drivers just get
caught in the middle.

Maybe - for your sake - your mom can get your stuff out of the
wrecked car for you. Seeing how bad things really are will only
bring reinforce bad memories.

I don't know of any padded, hard side crates. However, I use a baby
quilt to sometimes pad the sides of mine. This works great in
Winter, but in Summer, it can get to be too hot.

Liz

Thanks Liz, I'm not too shaken up anymore but we'll see what happens
when my mom comes to get me and take me to my car. We have to get all
my belongings out of it... I'm so sad I will have to say goodbye to
my car. I know its silly and I should just be happy that I'm ok but
I'm in tears just writing about it. I've had that car, a ford mustang
(my dream car), since I was a senior in highschool. Almost 7 years.
It was a good car even though it had a dented fender from when I hit
the mailbox the first year I had it, lol. I loved that car so much
and its gonna be so weird driving a new one... I have so many
memories in it... But I will hopefully be getting a safer more
practical car. And I will make sure my furbabies are safe always. I
was wondering, do they make a hard sided crate with padded sides on
the inside? I'm worried about him getting knocked around in it and
breaking something because he seems so fragile.
