Peggie, I have a Dyson. I know it is a bit pricy but they seem to last forever and I have 3 dogs and a cat. I vacuum 3 times a week and have had it for 5 years and it is still like new.

 Okay, I am taking a much needed survey.....My Hoover died today thanks to Princess's gorgeous fur!
Not only did I clean out the part where the belt goes and had to use the dog comb to get all the fur off of the brush, and changed the belt, but then when I opened the motor, I was shocked to see that everything was embedded with her fur. So I need a machine that can really suck up her fur without killing it's motor guts, lol!
What Brand and Model# do you all use? Are you very happy with your vacuum cleaner, especially for dog fur?
