Really I think any switch in diet can cause it...changing kibbles...foods too
high in fat...or even switching from one protein source to another. I also
think
dogs can get little bugs like we do...upset tummies, diharea etc.  It is the
body's natural way of getting rid of something quickly...a flush out so to
speak...so for me the trick is always to allow that to take place for just long
enough and then stop it before too many nutrients and fluids are lost. Many
people will fast a dog with diharea for 24 hours to allow the system to clean
itself out...it works and sometimes the digestive system just simply needs a
break. When i want it to stop I use the Imodium AD...it works fast. I do also
use pumkin to keep things regular when loose stools occur. It depends on why I
am thinking we are having issues as to which I do.

Subject: [Chihuahuas] Question about causes of diarrhea

What are some causes of diarrhea.. We're wondering what foods may cause it..
Can certain types of human food do it.. I know we kind of get carried away
sometimes giving her stuff when we are not supposed to.. Especially, yesterday
when he gave her some fat from the meat we ate and she took it in big mouth
fulls without chewing it fulling..

Just curious.. She is however coming out of heat... She hasn't had much of an
appetite.. So, my BF was trying to help her get her weight back..
