We just had dinner with the Shinonome principal and asst. principal. They have advised us to leave Thursday, and no later than Friday, if possible. They have also said for us to fly out of Osaka. Hiroshima is still safe, but they are worried about the power outages in Tokyo. Also, they are worried about possible radiation exposure in Tokyo, if the nuclear situation continues. Kevin has e-mailed our Japanese travel agent in Chapel Hill and we are waiting for a response. He e-mailed pretty this morning, (your monday night), so i'm hoping we will hear something soon. We could take the train back to Osaka and fly out of there. The principal said he may have a teacher accompany us on the train which would be awesome because it is incredibly difficult to navigate. It is around 10pm here and Kevin and I are going to attempt to stay awake as long as possible to see if we can get answer from our agent. We are hoping that American Airlines will cooperate and just change our flgihts, but a parent said that they would not because they do not see a reason for us to leave. We urged the travel agent to tell them that we were advised to leave by the school and are traveling with 8 children. If they don't change, we will have to pay for new tickets. Eeek.
