Hi everyone Ricky had his teeth cleaned this past Wed. Ricky being the grouchy boy he is, I expected him to be a handful at the vets.. but turns out he was just fine. Most likely too scared to bite. The Vet asked me if Ricky will walk on his leash. I said yes, but not for you. haha Ricky put his brakes on all the way in as the dr tried to walk him. I only use a harness on him for walking. he has a collar for his tags. He was finished in about 3 hours. went and picked him up and he was still pretty much sleeping! by the next day he was back to his old self. was looking him over as I do daily for lumps, bumps, scabs etc. under his throat was a large red mark. I was upset thinking the Vets office might have put a leash around his neck to lift him.. Called the vets office and talked to the vet himself, and was told he was with Ricky the whole time, lifted him up himself with no problems. nothing was around his neck. then he said he had put his collar and harness back on when he was still sleeping and put him in a cage. so then we are thinking that Ricky laid wrong on the harness and it made the red mark
I had to call later that day to check on ricky's thyroid test I had done. it was not back yet. I mentioned to the lady about the red mark under Rickys throat and it was looking worse so I might bring him in. The lady ask me if it looked like it was bruised. I said well ya somewhat. she said thats the area they take blood from for the thyroid test, the vein in the neck. soooooooo that is what the red/purple mark is from. so glad that got cleared up Ricky has very white teeth now, no problems with his gums or teeth! so now I guess he can bite me harder or maybe JOAN!!
