Thanks MJ, It would be nice to have those places everywhere. I'm gonna remember this one. Who knows, maybe I'll live in Tucson one day, lol. Hi Lorena, It is called Sabino Canyon Pet Resort and it is here in Tucson. We really do feel comfortable leaving our little ones with them. I don't believe it is a chain but it sure would be nice to clone them, eh? mj On Apr 4, 2011, at 3:39 PM, [email protected] wrote: That place sounds wonderful! What is it? Hi Lynn, The place where we leave them is wonderful. they have small dog play time for them twice a day and in the summer they give them special cool treats. For the water dogs they have a bone shaped swimming pool and I was there one time when there was much splashing and enjoyment going on.... four rather large dogs just leaping in the water and out and running around and back in the water again. The gal in there with them needed a slicker or something to keep dry <LOL> We got there early one time with Raven... we were waiting for them to open and some of the staff was waiting too... one of the gals said... hey... it's Raven... and came running over to pet and cuddle her. Of course, she ate it up and so did we. Made us feel that they really did care a lot about the dogs they keep. Then when we went in with Benji the first time everyone gathered around to meet who they called "Raven's Successor". Really special. And like you, a love for small critters is with me for the duration <G> mj mj in az [email protected] On Apr 4, 2011, at 11:29 AM, [email protected] wrote: Thank you, MJ, so much, for writing what you did...being so understanding of my situation in not having a Chihuahua, but still adoring them. And it is so sweet of you to offer to share your precious girls, Benji and Tilly, through updates, pictures, cute happenings. You have no idea how much I appreciate that. As mentioned before, sound as though we have both been animal lovers of all species for a long time and I know for me, I do not expect my obsession with all things cute and furry to go away any time soon. It seems as though you have covered all the bases (get acquainted visits beforehand) to ensure your girls will have the very best care available while you are traveling. What a great place you have found for them to stay when you cannot be with them. I, like you, enjoy having my pets around me as much as possible and tend to worry when they are out of my sight, and feel they could be incorporated into travel plans, but sure if even one little dog was along, there would be occasions where hubby might be thinking 'I told you so', he wouldn't say so, but we communicate pretty darn well through eye contact, facial gestures, (lol). Again, thanks, and hugs to you too, Lynn In a message dated 4/3/2011 3:32:47 P.M. We will not take Them with us We have always left our little ones with a great place where they are more spoiled than even by us <LOL> It is expensive but we budget for it and we know it is a super place because they are always happy to go there. Tilly hasn't been yet but before we travel she will visit several times and get to know the place and the people. Benji loves it there and our little old Raven loved it there too... My hubby loves the dogs but really doesn't want to travel with them. As for me, well, I'd be really happy to bring them along . ... hugs MJ in AZ [email protected] <MJtagBenjiTilly-CaNb-1Af-1.gif> On Apr 3, 2011, at 12:03 PM, [email protected] wrote: I don't have a Chihuahua/s Peggy, so I cannot send any pictures. I do want one so very much, and I guess I am just living vicariously through those of you who do have a Chi, have loved reading all the posts, viewing the adorable pictures, and have learned so much about Chihuahuas until I am able to have one, but hubby thinks it will make our planned move to the southwest much more difficult if we have to have one more carrier (we have 3 cats who are really adorable, funny, and entertaining) in our vehicle for at least a 3 day trip AND he wants to travel after retirement. We still have quite a few years before that is going to happen though. I told him a small dog could go anywhere with us, but I guess in reality after reading some of the info posted here, that is not entirely true. Restaurants, stores, hotels, groceries, many businesses, not always accepting or accommodating of dogs, even small ones. We also have a pet restriction limit of 2 in our neighborhood, so guess we are already pushing the envelope in that area. And he points out when I am out shopping with friends who have dogs, they always have to leave the party early so they can go home and let their dogs outside They are a little more responsibility than cats, but oh so cute, funny, loving, etc. Lynn In a message dated 4/2/2011 3:28:24 P.M. Oh what a doll, cute little Princess Gigi. They all have their own little way of communicating to us what they want and/or need and if we just pay attention all the signs are there and we don't really need words to communicate with our animal loves. I usually ask mine what they want and somehow or another they manage to convey what the subject matter is and we get it all taken care of. Lynn In a message dated 4/1/2011 6:55:04 P.M. My Gigi will usually jump on the chair next to the window and door and sit wagging and smiling...her que that she wants to go for a walk. If that doesn t work, then she runs to the closet where her clothes are and scratches on the door and then runs back to the chair. She will do that several times, until I give in. <PINKCR~21.GIF> -------Original Message------- From: chargeit2him Date: 4/1/2011 5:23:42 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Chihuahuas] Missy can't wait ....
