My week did not turn out anywhere the way that I wanted it to be.

I had phone calls from the homeowners here in my community reporting broken
gates, their upset about the company that is repairing sidewalks.calls about
almost everything at early in the morning hours and throughout the day. I
did get the injections at the surgery center and that evening I just tried
to sleep in the recliner, but of all the days that Dolly & Desi don't want
to sleep there with me.that was the day! Early the next morning, the pain
management doctor's office called to change the time of my appointment for
the occipital injections. I got home that night feeling so tired and yet
there were phone calls to return that evening. Wednesday I actually was
able to sleep until about 8 am when the property manager called me to check
out something and then once I was awake, Dolly & Desi were awake, and there
was no going back to sleep for me. So, that afternoon I went to get the
blood drawn per the orders of a doctor about three weeks ago. While I was
out I was getting texts from T-Mobile reminding me to return my defective
phone - which I had taken to the UPS Store the Friday before and it was
going 3-day air so they should have had it. It was too late to call the UPS
Store and when I tried tracking on the internet, there was no activity for
that tag number. So, Thursday morning I had to get up early to go to the
pain management physician's assistant for med refills, but before I could
even get out of bed, I had calls from my neighbors, the secretary of the
association, the property manager about our entrance gates being broken.
Well.I had to speed getting dressed and then stopped at the gates on the way
to my doctor appt and another homeowner was kind enough to take pictures and
email to the property manager so that I could get to my appointment. I
wasn't even out of the doctor office, when the property manager called to
tell me that the company fixing the sidewalks broke the gates.and this was
relayed by a retired police officer. So, instead of going for my meds, I
had to come back to the community and then talk to the crew that was doing
the sidewalks and had to wait for their boss to come; then I called the
property manager and had to wait for her to come; and then we called the
gate company and had to wait for them to come. I was out there on my feet
until after 4 pm. The gate guy said that the construction loader could not
have damaged the gate as the way it had popped the joints was consistent
with a car pushing on the gate to gain access if they didn't have their
code. When I went back home, there was a 10-minute email from the UPS
Store.I think he had dialed my number and then a customer came in and he sat
it down and forgot because I could hear their entire conversation, but I
didn't want to hang up because I didn't know if he picked up the phone later
and left me a message. I had another message, the wife of the HOA Treasurer
letting me know that there were checks that needed to be signed and she told
me that her husband was home from the hospital. So, I got back in the car
and drove across the community to their house and as I was signing the
checks, I just casually asked what the hospital found out about her
husband.they diagnosed him with COPD and Congestive Heart Failure. I was
totally shocked. So, before I left, I just told him to think about his
health and if he thought being on the board was too much for him that he
needed to let me know. That was the Saturday morning call.he has resigned.
We only have three board members, I am the President and the Secretary has
macular degeneration which is progressing rather quickly. I am hoping that
the gal that ran in the last election and lost out can just be installed as
an officer at our board meeting this Wednesday.

T-Mobile customer service has been rude to me about the phone being missing
and they said if it doesn't come back to them they will charge me for it. I
had no patience for her and that ruined the rest of my day yesterday.
Tomorrow morning, I am calling the UPS Store again, and if I get rudeness
from him again, I will call UPS directly.

Today I went to Church and then stopped for a bite to eat. I am hoping the
rest of my day today will be peaceful and tomorrow as well. I put Dolly &
Desi outside when I got home, and they will be coming in soon, and we WILL
lay down for a while so that I can rest my body from all of the chaos from
this past week. Desi is very good about it, I put his soft blanket over his
head and he gets all comfy and goes to sleep. Dolly wants things by her
rules, which she rarely gets, and so yesterday afternoon I was trying to
rest as I watched Desi try to eat his food from the new treat ball, and then
when he wasn't getting anything out of it, I let him come in bed and thought
I would work with him on it later. Then my friend from Florida called me
up.she has Lewy Body Dementia (as my Mom did) and I have told her to call me
if she ever needs to talk and release some stress. So, I had just fallen
asleep when she called. Then I laid back down and just when I was ready to
fall off, she called again. There must be some reason that I cannot get
some rest when I need it, but I guess helping others is a good enough
reason.

I will try Dolly & Desi and their compassion and see if we can actually take
a nap today.

Later, I will post the video of Desi's getting his food from his second
treat toy.right now, everything has to wait until I get some rest!

I hope all goes well Joan and your best pals, Desi and Dolly are a big
comfort for you. Know they are just by their presence. I wish I could help
out.

Lynn
