Thank you, Pam, yes, I take the photos myself. Remember, I am not a
professional photographer, so all I can tell you is how I do it. There's no
big
secret to getting good photos, first get a fairly good camera, at least 9 or
10 mega pixels. Then use it often. The more you use it, taking photos of
your dog (s), the quicker it will get used to the camera and what you are
going to do with it. You can take action shots or you can set up a place
at which to photograph your dog. Because I can not sit on the floor, and
because I can not get on my knees or even sit on my haunches (to get at
Emiliano's level, instead of shooting overhead), I set up a place. I have a
wicker setee that is perfect, I cover the seat and the back with a soft black
cloth and put Emiliano on it, then I sit on a foot stool in front of him
that gives me a good angle at which to shoot. Because he is so used to me
taking his photo, the minute I put him on the setee and he sees the camera, I
swear he poses. I can say "look at Mama" and he will, or I can lift an
arm to one side, with my hand waving at the level of my head and tell him
"give me a profile" and he will turn his head in that direction and the best
thing is to teach them "ears up". If I say to him, "Emiliano, look at
Mama", then say in a loud voice, "oh, so pretty, ears (stretching the word)
up",
he will do it and I have to be ready to take the photo quickly. Then
review what you've got, choose the very best ones only and if you don't like
any of them that's OK, that's the best thing about digital cameras, you can
delete them all and start all over.
