We got a Chihuahua/Fox Terrier mix when I was 11. He was a dog with a split
personality. He could be sitting with one of us and another sat next to us,
he would get into a rage and many times he would bit us really good, too.
He had his shots and he ate kibble (probably the cheapest in the grocery
store) He developed some prostate problems and probably something else. We
had to have him put down when he was only 6. Then we had this other dog,
Part Chihuahua and part Beagle) and he was the sweetest thing. He lived
outside because there was no learning about potty training and he chewed
everything up inside. He lived until he was about 12 years and then I think
that a neighbor poisoned him because he didn't like when Lucky would bark
about something.

My girls love the little table scraps too. For me, I am not giving them
anymore shots either. They will both be 7 soon and I feel that what they
have is enough in their system. Sausage?....lol, that's one thing I never
gave them, only because it is suppose to have a high salt content. But every
dog is different. When we were kids we had nothing but mutts, and they never
saw Vets and my Dad use to feed them everything, including cooked steak and
ham, pork bones. plus the cheapest kibble on the market, which during those
years was always corn based. Yet they all lived a full long life and only
had their shots as puppies and then never again, and yet never got sick or
saw a Vet.

Go figure.....

my mother has been giving her sausage Jambayla [cut up pieces]and she has
been eating it!! she is a very peculiar eater. and I haven't taken her to
the vet in several years I meant when she was younger I took her to the vet
and he gave her shots and trimmed her toenails. at 17 she seems to be doing
fairly well she doesn't like to ride in cars she never has. she would
rather stay at home. Robert

Thanks Robert. I was curious as to whether you had given her the shots Every
year, especially in her senior years because there is so

much controversy about them. I have known several people who gave the toy
breeds shots in their senior years and the dogs had terrible side effects
from them. One friend lost her little yorkie two weeks after the shot when
she was 15 yrs old and swears that it was from the Booster shot. Also,
there is so much controversy over a dogs diet with feeding kibble, so I was
taking my own little survey, lol.

I've fed her Chicken, dry dog food, some table scraps. when she was born she
had a hernia above her stomach which the vet removed by surgery when she was
6 months she was spayed too.at 6 months. I decided not to breed her early
on. she is strictly a pet but they all were. yes she had all her shots.

Awww, Jane-Jane is as cute as ever. Robert, I am curious what have you fed
her for most of her life? Also, did she get Booster and Rabies shots every
year? Can you offer any helpful hints for her longevity?
