Joan have you ever tried hiding his meds in a ball of liverwurst?
liverwurst has a very strong aroma and taste to hide the smell and taste of
pills.

Thank you very much.
Last night he wouldn’t eat the pill pocket and I had a heck of a time trying
to get the pill down his throat – he kept producing it and he was trying to
spit it out. Finally, the pill was smaller from his saliva already breaking
it down. I opened his mouth, dropped the pill in his mouth so that it was
near the back, then gently closed his mouth and blew into his nostrils. (my
sister had a dog with epilepsy and she told me once that is how she gives
him his medicine.
This morning, he ran to the counter where the food canister is and so I
filled one of his new treat balls and he played with it, crunched the food,
etc. He went outside by Dolly and came back in. I have to give him
medicine in about an hour, so I hope that he can eat the pill pocket with
the pill in it – without spitting out the pill so many times. He might have
learned last night that if he doesn’t eat the pill pocket that the pill
inside does not taste good. He was so hungry that I hope that eating the
kibble didn’t cause more problems in his mouth.
