My little girl made it home safely. However, I stopped by to see a mate of mine
who has owned chihuahuas for several years. My girl's got a rather nasty wheezy
cough. The shelter claims it's kennel cough. And I have a prescription they've
provided.

Either way, I'm taking her to the local vet tomorrow. Hopefully it's something
that can be treated easily with antibiotics. Fingers crossed my little wheezer
is going to be okay.

In other news - she baths well. Although I need to get some dog shampoo - all I
have now is conditioner. And she doesn't seem to mind the blow dryer. In fact,
she seems to enjoy it.

I think I'm going to have the vet check her mouth and teeth as she seems to
dislike dry kibble. Thankfully Pet Smart has a refund program. On the up side -
she loved the plain yogurt I mixed in. She's very thin right now - although
according to my chi consultant, not devastatingly so. I believe under nourished
is the correct term.

Either way...fingers are crossed this doesn't turn into a health nightmare. The
shelter offered to keep her to get her better. But I can't see being a shelter
leading to a healthy dog. So, I've signed my waiver (voiding the 7 day
return/exchange policy) and brought her home.
