Do you have a ForeclosedUponPets in your area. They may be able to take
them in, and/or tell you where you could either take them or someone come
and pick them up.

I know the one shelter here is a no-kill shelter, and we also have
foreclosed upon pets which is also no-kill.

You are in New York, right? I don't know what agencies you might have
there. It is a crime, for sure!

Oh my gosh Beth! Those poor scared Babies!! She has puppies too! Is there
anyway that you can get them in carriers and then maybe keep them in your
yard? I know and completely understand, you not wanting them in the house
after what you just went through with Smidgen.

But if you were able to block off a portion of your yard and give them
shelter and food and water, and use gloves when handling them, then you
wouldn't have to worry about your dogs. And then hopefully call some
rescues and or advertise them for adoption. We know what will happen to
them if Animal Control gets them. They won't even go up for adoption,
because they will be considered owner surrender since some one dumped them.

You may be able to catch them, just by sitting on the ground with a bowl of
food next to you. Lots of people have won the trust of a dog by doing that
several times and being very patient. Other wise, you can use live traps.

How about calling the rescues in the area?? Especially the one that you
helped out, they should return the favor! Were you able to find out where
they are hiding with their puppies? Are they big Chi's?

The man who dropped them off like that, should be whipped! Makes me so
mad!!

They may have chose your car, because of the scent of your dogs in it.

Subject: [Chihuahuas] Chi's under my car.

I don't know what it is about me, but I truely believe I was a Chi in
another life.. LOL I went to get in my car at work last night, and 2
Chihuahua's were laying just under my car. It was about 100 here yesterday!
I tried to coax them to come to me but they took off. I work in down town
San Bernardino, so very busy streets! The lady from the bus. next door was
out and they have dogs in their lot along with there chi from home and
another 3 legged small dog. I asked her if she knew who's dogs they were.
She said some man tried to give them too her, said they were strays living
in a parking lot 2 streets over. So I watched them for a moment. I hurried
to go drop my deposit off, then was heading to the store to get some food
water and bowls. Coming down the road they popped out in too the street! I
pulled over and jumped in the street to stop traffic! They almost got hit.
They both ran to the parking lot she told me they where living at. I got
back it the car and went and got the food and water for them. Came back and
put it out, watched and when I pulled back they went and ate. I stopped by
before work this morning, and the gate was open, men working. I asked if
these dogs were theres. No, they said that they have been living in boxes.
One had pups, but some died. They told me they were going to call animal
control. I said I just didn't want to see them hit! & that they were almost
hit several times yesterday. I left the rest of the food and filled the
water. Another hot day today.. I don't know what else I can do.
Beth
