Hi Gloria, I can feel for your sister. I had one of my lumbar fusions through the front. I think that it takes more stomach muscles to get out of bed or even out of a chair than it takes the back muscles. Prayers going out for your sister.

It was cold and windy. In fact, I was sorry I hadn't taken a sweater for Emiliano but who would think sweater in Galveston in May?? My sister has a rough recovery time ahead but when I left, she was able to get in and out of bed by her self. Abdominal surgery is not pain free. Gloria
