Because she is a very good dog...and I need to highlight her good qualities
Here are some things her new owner will have to look forward to every day: - playing fetch with her chew toy - playing fetch with her 'Kong' - watching her bury her cookies in her bed or blankets - watching her dig through the towel looking for hidden kibble - taking naps with her curled up on your chest - watching her shake her stuffed toys around - walks in the sunshine - watching her sleep and listening to her snore - the occasional little doggy fart - a companion that loves to be with you and comes running when you call and make kissy noises - enjoying her nuzzling your hand and trying to bury herself in your clothes - and who knows what other wonderful new behaviors will come to light as this little girl grows up? We have not been a good match. There have been some very unhappy days. But recognizing this and acknowledging it and accepting that this is probably something that will not change has helped me to change my state of mind for a less haggard, anxiety driven one to a more positive, loving one. And of course, I have the kind words and advice from everyone here. This is a little girl I rescued from a high-kill shelter. She is on her way towards full health. Until she is ready to go to a permanent home, she will live here, loved as much as I am able to love her, cuddled, cared for, and kept fed and warm. Thankfully, I think I have enough food (yay freezers) around the house to sustain me until the the crate/x-pen get here. I can't leave her here unsupervised for more than a few minutes. I don't want to put her in the hallway or bathroom again. It causes too many problems and has had a retrogressive effect on any house training she's had. As always, keep us in your thoughts and send us positive vibes. I'm learning...this story will have a happy ending! ------------------------------------ We are now on Facebook!
