You know I use to say, "I'm more into the larger breeds, I'm a big dog
person...I have Halo, she's a Great Dane/Aussie mix...she's my baby lol but
here's my sister giving me this little Chi that an homeless man gave her in
front of a Grocery Store back in September...we named the Chi., Kai, he was
weak and all bones...he's healthy and toothless now lol and he can keep up
with the BIG DOG... Halo ! that little guy really surprised me...Kai grew
on me, my parents always had Chis and other small breeds when I lived at
home... I always dreamed of a large dog I could run on the beach with or go
for walks to protect me etc. When I first had Kai I told my sister, I don't
think I could handle something this tiny and kept telling her we need to
find Kai a good home...but looking at him now, I would miss him so much, he's
bonded with me and we are so attached to each other, I could never ever
think about giving him up, there would definitely be an empty hole in my
heart... walking on the foothills with wild animals...I'll let Kai stay safely
inside with the rest of the little furbies, no problem...at the beach, he
runs with the Big dogs lol

- I am not a small breed person. I get nervous because she's so low on the
food chain and easily something that would be considered dinner to 90% of
the animals living in my area. Temperament wise, I'd have done better with
a larger dog that was happy to spend his days playing with his toys on his
own or lounging while I worked. The pay off would be plenty of long walks
or trips to hiking trails.
