I grew up in a home built in 1908. I just loved the pictures of your house you grew up in, I like the "laced" style of the trim. It is a pain to keep painted and maintained but look neat. I have a brother that is in charge of historic preservation for a town back on the east coast. I love the preservation of old, beautiful building, the outdoor art (I just completed my 3rd term as Chair of the Austin Arts Commission, which approves the monies the city spends on funds awarded to arts organizations and the selection of art for our "Art in Public Places" program), and the outdoor music concerts (Austin touts itself as "the music Capital of the World", we have concerts that draw hundreds of thousands of people and we have Willie Nelson (LOL). Austin is the Capital of the state of Texas, we have lakes, hike and bike trails and lots of hills and beautiful trees and birds (many of which are protected). The second thing is, whenever, "we girls" are talking about things that you don't understand - JUST ASK. I bet we'll tell you! Gloria
