- the cough seems to have subsided. It's been a day or so, and I haven't heard the hacking, retching that was so bad when she first came. Hopefully, she is safely past the worst of it. Knock on wood. She's still a little congested and stuffy, but that's to be expected. I have a couple more days of meds. Then it's just a matter of finishing getting her well with good food and a little R/R. I will not be introducing her to the other dog or cat for another couple of weeks as she can still pass on the virus (Thank you Peggy). And then I will be cloroxing the hell out of the areas I know she's been and putting any of the rugs she's lain on in the wash. I've already put her bed in the wash at least once when she was starting to improve as it was covered in cookie crumbs and dried snot.
- As for the worms - spent the morning digging through bags of poo looking for tape worm segments that been shed. Should have just kept that bag separate. Oh well. Thank heavens for surgical gloves. She is on a vet prescribed de-wormer. Half a tablet today. Half in three weeks. ...and now I pray that this is the end of the health issues. As I said...taking a break from the forum. Always accessible by email if you want to know how the wee one is doing. The only thing I expect to have to share in the future is how her spay/vaccine goes in early June and then how finding her new home goes. I won't be scheduling her spay until she's been several weeks in the clear. Last thing I need is a dog with a compromised immune system going under anesthesia. Again, many thanks to those of you who've been so very helpful and supportive. It's definitely made a difference. ------------------------------------ We are now on Facebook!
