Oh yes they do! allot of people wouldn't think so. Joan Jett is the Cuckoo Maran, and she is a pistol! She was a couple days younger then the other 3 when I bought her, she still the smallest, but she runs around crazy like in the coop. When I come out to give them meal worms, she just about jumps in my lap. I am looking forward to her eggs, as they are the dark dark brown eggs that chefs like to use. I had several pigs growing up, some weren't so lucky as to stay pets, but not by my choice. I loved to go out and feed them and scratch on them. I was in FFA in High school and one of my projects was a Red Duroc Sow. She was the size of a Chi when I firts got her, All red and cute, Pecan was her name. She got to be over 300lbs. She sold at one of the shows, and I was told she was going to be used as a breeding Sow, and not for eating... I do know she did have a litter, but then after that not sure what happen too her. My best friend, the one that had the fire recently, had a large pot belly pig. "Spots" had a small corral down with the horses, and part of the feed bin/stall, was where he slept, He would burrow him self in the hay. Spot had a funny relationship with the horses, one was Toby the pony, Toby would chew on Spots tusk on the sides of Spot face, and break them off. Spot like this? Spot would hang with the horses in the pasture when he was a bit younger, he would scratch on them, walk under them, all kinds of things. He past away not long ago, He was a good pig. I have seen the little micro pigs on yutube and I would love to have one!! Beth

See, you know even chickens have defining personalities. I love chickens too. Even the pig next door to my dad's had so much personality you almost couldn't believe how much and my dad became one of his best friends, lol. I would go to my dad's and would do his laundry, but couldn't figure out why his pants were so muddy always in the same spot. Eventually I discovered that was the spot where the neighbor's pig would rub up against Dad so he would pet him. I had a black car at the time and the pig would escape his pen and meander over and stand by the side door of my car for long periods of time either admiring himself or entranced with the other piggy he was reflecting back. Aren't animals wonderful. Lynn In a message dated 5/20/2011 1:32:32 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: Oh thanks Lynn. I made sure the names fit their personalities. > >
