I've given Monster comfortis and it works great. He only gets it when fleas are
bad and there's practically none around right now. With any medication there's
a risk of the dog having a bad reaction so it depends on the dog and how bad
the fleas are if you wanna take the chance. I think there are more dogs that it
has worked for than have had reactions.

I just did some research on Comfortis and there are a lot of dogs out there
that have had bad reactions to this pill. This is scary to me.

my vet said fleas in NC the worst ever. my boys are taking Con fortis now--1
pill each a month and NO FLEAS. But very high---$95. for 6 pills but has been
worth it--fleas were gone in 1 hour-- It is RX at vet's.

Apparently the Frontline does not work anymore on Itsy our newest member.
Going to have to come up with something else for her. Plus I think the fleas
like the ticks and black widow spiders and other pest we have here are so much
worse this year. One reason is because of the tornado damage that was done that
destroyed their natural habitats. Anyway, I am talking to the vet Monday about
the Comfortis, (sp) has anyone else used it and what kind of results did you
have?. I AM ALSO LOOKING INTO THE Diatomaceous earth, even though it did not
work for Bogie it might work for Itsy.. We never had any idea exactly how old
Itsy was and she is in heat now. Not letting her get with another dog but just
wondered if the female hormones generated from the heat could cause the
medication to not work anymore?

  Thanks
