When I bought him, he was soooo cute that I didn't realize that he was so fat.the first thing the vet said to me was 'Oh, he is a hefty one!'. His puppy food days were very short.
At four months, the vet had me put him on the adult food and it took until he was 10 months old to get him to where he was pretty lean. Then the vet had me increase his food, but then he packed on more fat in the first month. For about the last year, I have been able to keep his portions pretty stable. In the last three months, his rib cage and all the bone structure on his back grew.the vet says it may be because he didn't have all the puppy nutrients and it delayed his growth. I actually didn't think he was all Chihuahua for a very long time, and only in the last three or four months have I seen that he is.it was when he lost all the extra fat from his face. When I lose weight, it is in my face first.he lost it in his face last! I will let you know what the neurosurgeon says about the MRI. The gal that usually does the scheduling was off today and someone else called me back and said the next appt was the end of September. I have to call the regular gal tomorrow because she will know how to schedule me. Me.I am learning to take life easier. I realize with all that has happened to me lately, that I have to remember that I can't push myself so far. I go to the eye specialist on Thursday morning and my primary care doc that afternoon. Hopefully things will go good. You all take care. I need some more time to get used to the new way of life.I have to go through the list of emails, and occasionally I will open and read one. I just had to read the one if the dogs was full-blooded or mixed and saw Desi in that face. Funny that Desi was the giant puppy, too! My, I can't believe Desi was so big as a baby. He looks good at his mature weight, lean and handsome. I too pray that the tumor stays gone. Take care, sending you lots of healing glows. Gloria
