Oh…I can’t believe you said that!

When Dolly was about five months old, I was going to take her somewhere and all
of a sudden she was screeching out in pain as I was walking in the bedroom to
get something. I turned around and she was just standing there looking at me.
I continued to get the things that I needed and then there would be more
screeches. Just an hour before I was sitting on the floor throwing her toys
and she was running to them and bringing them back to me.

I put her in her booster seat and got to the vet. I took her out and put her
on the ground and she was walking fine…so I thought it was a false alarm.

I went to Best Buy Geek Squad and I was holding here. The manager came over to
see her and she asked me what was wrong with her. I asked her how she knew
something was wrong and she said she could see it in her eyes. After I was
done there, I took her back to the vet’s office. Her tail was stuck between
her legs and I couldn’t touch it without her screeching. The vet couldn’t move
it either, so he asked if he could do an x-ray. He called me into the back
area where her x-ray was on the wall. She had so many little white spots on
the x-ray. He asked me what she was eating, and I responded ‘dog food.’ Well,
he said it was definitely something that she had eaten because these spots were
riddled from almost her neck to her rear end. They kept her, gave her an IV
drip and an enema and kept her for observation and they had to go through her
‘gifts’ to see what was there. He said that it was small pieces of white
rocks. Well, my rocks are reddish, but he said that sometimes the digestive
juices take the colors off. So I knew that she ate rocks..but why? She had
been teething and I think when she was outside she found that rocks really
helped with the pain. I have never heard anyone say that their dog ate
rocks…although I am not happy that you had those vet bills…and worry, I am
happy to hear that Dolly isn’t the only Chihuahua that has eaten rocks.

I can’t say no, but I can’t keep getting dogs. This would be number 9. It’s
not the food that bothers me, it’s the vet bills. I’m still paying on Becky’s
last fiasco of eating a rock.

I have a man that emailed me saying he would be bringing a chi/weenie. Oh!
Lord help me! It’s a pup (exact age unknown) that he cared for, for a friend.
The friend said he did not want the dog anymore and left the pup with this guy.
This guy does not want it and he tried several shelters and the county pound.
All shelters refused and the county pound said they would euthanize the dog.
Some body gave him my name. I’ll take him and see how he is doing. Maybe I
can find him a home.
