As some of you know,I’ve been taking care of a precious cat that was caught in a leg trap...she has a broken pelvis and leg...the fur was torn off in different places..big gashes on both of her hind legs...we’re not sure...but think the SOB who caught her in the trap might have kicked her to get her out! It looked like she was kicked very hard from behind..it looked like all her organs and guts were in her chest...it was HUGE! She used to come around here to eat once in a while (yes...she’s one of the strays that was dumped here)...than I didn’t see her for a while...5 weeks ago this Thursday I heard a cat crying...it was raining pretty hard...and it was cold! I found her trying to get off from under the front porch lattice..she couldn’t even stand up...I was so upset...I carried her to the back deck and put her into one of the “igloos” that I put out for the stray cats. After a few minutes I decided I couldn’t stand to see her out there in the cold...so helpless...so I put her in the garage in a big dog cage...with a nice thick bed of straw...I started her on medication...and LOTS of TLC ...she was so helpless...she couldn’t even lift her head up to eat or drink...my one son helped me every day...we would hold the dishes for her...she continued to get better...then she had a set back...I was pretty scared...but she’s a fighter and pulled through it! Last night when I went to take care of her...she’s in the basement now...I called her name...I was amazed when she stood up and walked across the cage! I was so happy! She’s not real steady on her feet...but as messed up as she was...I think it’s a miracle! She’s such a sweet cat...she’s never tried to bite or scratch me when I was taking care of her...even when I cleaned the wounds on her legs...which we very nasty...she’s such a sweet girl...and not that I wasn’t  looking to adopt another animal...but ”Pepper” has found a forever home...I could never part with her now. I hope the ^%$)&^# who trapped her has stopped setting out the traps...I also hope that he catches a hand or finger in the trap...so he can feel a bit of the pain that this poor little cat has felt! I think leg hold traps are against the law in Ohio...and eventually I hope I find out who’s doing it...by the way...there were actually two cats that were caught in traps....the other one I call “Honey”...she was caught several months ago...she had the same wounds that Pepper has...everything was the same...she used to be friendly...but after that happened to her...she runs from me...poor baby had a leg that just dangled from the hip...when I saw her on the deck I would take out canned cat food or tuna with medication for her...it must have helped...she’s completely healed now! She still walks a little stiff legged...but she’s doing good...she was here last night to eat...and she’s starting to trust me again...she’ll sit a little ways from me and I talk to her...Pepper has had lots of prayers...and they’re working!
